How to Create Strong Passwords

Make It Long

Use at least 12 characters. Longer passwords are exponentially harder to crack. Think of a memorable phrase instead of a single word.

Mix It Up

Combine uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. This makes your password much more complex.

Avoid Common Words

Don't use dictionary words, personal information, or common patterns like "123456" or "password". Hackers try these first.

Use Unique Passwords

Never reuse passwords across multiple accounts. If one gets compromised, all your accounts could be at risk.

Try the Passphrase Method

Create a memorable sentence and use the first letter of each word, plus numbers and symbols. Example: "I love 2 eat pizza on Fridays!" becomes "Il2epoF!"

Use a Password Manager

Let a password manager generate and store unique, strong passwords for all your accounts. You only need to remember one master password.
